A Message from the Principal

Dear Families,

It is my distinct pleasure to introduce myself to you all. My name is Dr. James Grossane and I have the honor of serving as your Interim Principal for the 2025-2026 school year at Connolly Elementary School.

I come to you after serving 41 years in public education in the schools of Long Island. I began my career at the elementary school level as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped and as a Special Education Teacher. I served as an Assistant Principal and Principal at the elementary, middle and high school levels for over seventeen years. I also served as Superintendent of Schools for the last twelve years of my career.

Retiring two years ago afforded me the wonderful opportunity to spend time with my family as my sons entered into marriage and parenthood and I became a grandfather!

Please be assured that I am dedicated to diligently leading Connolly Elementary School for the upcoming school year. With my many years of experience in building and district administration, I am confident that you will see a seamless administrative transition. I am dedicated to fully supporting our students, faculty and families. My door is always open to you and your concerns and do not hesitate to contact me.
